- Serves: 4
You’ll need
- 1 cup Frozen strawberries
- 1 Frozen banana
- 1 cup Plant milk (vanilla almond or oat)
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 tsp Maple syrup (optional)
- 1 scoop Optional: Vegan protein powder
Method
- Add all ingredients to a blender.
- Blend high for 45 seconds until completely smooth.
- Adjust thickness — more milk for thinner, more frozen banana for thicker.
- Pour into a glass. Drink immediately.
Notes + tips
- Use frozen strawberries (not fresh) for proper milkshake-like thickness.
- Banana is the natural sweetener — adjust maple syrup to taste, or skip if your banana is very ripe.
- Add a small handful of spinach for nutrition without changing the taste.
- For a thicker smoothie bowl, reduce plant milk to 1/2 cup and serve in a bowl with toppings.
Why this works
This recipe is intentionally simple. The technique stays out of the way of the ingredients. Plant-based cooking generally rewards clean execution over elaborate technique — the flavours are fresher, the texture cleaner, and the result more satisfying when you let good ingredients do most of the work.
